Combat archery is sometimes known as battle archery or archery tag. This is a sport similar to dodgeball, paintball or nerf war played with bows and arrows tipped with foam.
Participants form teams and use a bow to shoot at opponents with large foam tip arrows. To avoid injury all participants must wear protective face masks.
There are many different game types, however a popular one begins with a number of arrows in the center of the arena. At the whistle all players race to collect them, before firing them at one another across the playing field. A player is eliminated if struck by an arrow, and a player can bring an eliminated teammate back into play by catching an arrow.
Unlike paintball the minimum age to play Archery tag is 10 years old, however players also need to be able to draw the bow and shoot the arrow to participate.
